Who says you need a tiny waist to wear a corset? Certainly not voluptuous singer Beth Ditto, who recently unveiled a limited-edition T-shirt done in collaboration with Jean Paul Gaultier, the man behind Madonna’s flesh-toned lingerie costumes.

Here the cinched item floats like a decal on a black background, the rear view embroidered with real laces. Insta Graphic Systems produced the photo-realistic, 4-color process Litho gloss heat transfer and applied both front and back to a high-end 100% cotton T-shirt.

To create this multi-media embellishment, Insta teamed up with local sewing factory, Latigo in Los Angeles who carefully executed the stitched trim and grommets, with satin laces, over the gloss Litho heat transfer to complete the vintage faux corset, perfectly designed for singer Beth Ditto’s new line of plus sized clothing.

The $165 item — which can be worn with leggings or as a dress — was Gossip’s front woman’s way of announcing an upcoming plus-size clothing line.

She disclosed the plans on her Web site, saying the full collection would be released in February and “inspired by her love of vintage.”
