How to Keep Your Heat Transfers from Looking Wrinkled or Bent

Here’s a nifty tip from Sean Savitch, Insta’s Research and Design Tech, recently published in Printwear:

Wrinkled or bent heat transfers can be a result of a low-quality heat transfer, machine, or the application recommendations are not being executed. You can avoid this by testing your application settings before production. You can test your settings with these easy steps:

  1. Calibrate your heat press.
  2. Follow recommended application instructions.

Go forth with wash tests prior to production. If the transfer is still not holding up after one wash, find a different product that will work for you or find a new heat transfer manufacturer.
